The post TODAY鈥橲 MUSIC PRODUCER 鈥 BEHIND THE SCENES #1 appeared first on 红桃视频 Institute.

The role of the Music Producer is not what it used to be. Today, the music producer is not only the one getting things done from the business side but they are also often times, composing, singing, playing, recording, mixing, mastering, financing, marketing, promoting, performing…this list of responsibilities can get long!

We are going to be tackling what it means to be a music producer in today’s music industry in our “Today’s Music Producer” series and how we help prepare our students to be music producers in this constantly changing environment.

Studio Techniques

Not all studios are the same and digital isn’t ALWAYS better! In the Recording Arts ProgramStudio Techniques course, we explain how a session functions and how to work with analog gear. Music producers must understand why the size of studio and scaling of equipment is critical to the success of a a project and learn how to plan the production (pre-production) of a recording session accodingly. Studio Techniques you learn all of this and more!

Intro to DAW

There are a number of DAWS (Digital Audio Workstations) such as

1)
2)
3)
4)

Unlike in the past, todays music producer needs to be familair with the common DAWS in the market and how they work. With a focus on , still the industry standard, the Recording Arts Program, Intro to DAW course equips our students with the Pro Tools DAW workspace which gives them a strong foundation for working across the many different DAWS. This knowledge also helps the music producer understand how to communicate with the recording studio engineer and when the situation calls for it, jump in and engineer the project themselves!

Bill and Ted Face the ‘Meh’, uh I mean ‘Music’ – #EricSays Movie Review /bill-ted-face-the-music/ Mon, 21 Sep 2020 22:40:40 +0000 /?p=12056 Seemingly out of nowhere, a brand spankin' NEW Bill and Ted movie has hit the streets!

The post Bill and Ted Face the ‘Meh’, uh I mean ‘Music’ – #EricSays Movie Review appeared first on 红桃视频 Institute.

]]>

Let’s face it, Bill and Ted are, well, somewhat funny. I’m not sure how you feel about the first two Bill and Ted flicks, but I’ve always enjoyed them a little bit, but never raved over them. And now, lo and behold, seemingly out of nowhere, a brand spankin’ NEW Bill and Ted movie has hit the streets! Before I get into all of that, let’s back-up a bit, going all the way back to September of 2019, long before Corona meant anything more than a mexican beer.
Back then, when a group of students and I were helping out with the , I got to have dinner with one of my hollywood special effects heros, . Steve Wang is a legend for his creature design – he’s the guy who created the Predator creature after all – and he was in town for this convention. I got to sit next to him during dinner and had a grand ol’ time listening to his cool stories of working in creature effects over the years. When I asked him what he was working on he said it was top secret, and all he could tell me was that he was working on the upcoming Bill and Ted movie. I was thinking, ‘really, they’re making another Bill and Ted movie’? Later I found out he had created the robot character for the movie.
Cut to now, and ‘‘ is out at theaters and on demand. I was looking forward to seeing this robot creature design, and to see if the film was fun or funny, or both. So I went to the movie theater to watch it. The general plot of the movie is that Bill and Ted have kinda wasted away over the years, living a sort of normal life, and they have never created the song that was supposed to unite the Universe. Older Bill and Ted still have their band the ‘Wyld Stallyns’, but nowadays they find themselves playing the local Holiday Inn on two dollar taco night. They are not living their best lives. They have wives and daughters, and their two daughters are fun to watch because they are kind of clones of their clueless dads.
Bill, Ted and their daughters get wrapped up in a time travel mess to help them create the song to save the universe, or else the universe will come to a screeching halt in 72 hours. The robot character (weirdly named Dennis Caleb McCoy) is sent back in time to kill them, Terminator style. This is the point where I should shut up and not give any more spoilers, so I will just give my two cents here instead!
If you love the first two movies, then you will love this film. It has all the same style of humor, and fun characterizations aplenty, to keep you happy. If you are like me, you will kind of go ‘meh’ when you watch it. It is fun, but to me it’s not ‘laugh out loud’ funny. and are great as ever at recreating their roles, even though it can be a bit unsettling to see guys in their 50’s try and be clueless teens from the 1980’s. I like the robot character a lot, and the daughters are great in this. reprises his role as ‘Death’ from the second film, and he is good too.
In the end I would say that you should see this film if you liked the first two Bill and Ted movies, but if you are looking for a ‘gut busting’ hilarious movie you’ll need to look elsewhere. I found it enjoyable, but not incredible. Maybe if you’re a stoner ‘Bill and Ted’ type you’ll get a kick out of it, especially if you watch it while stoned! Otherwise, wait to see it when you are bored one afternoon and it comes out free on Netflix…

Go Back In Time With TENET – #EricSays Movie Review /go-back-in-time-tenet-movie-review/ Fri, 11 Sep 2020 14:46:17 +0000 /?p=11595 Christopher Nolan, the mind-bending director of movies like 'Inception' and 'Memento', has done it again with his new movie 'Tenet'.

The post Go Back In Time With TENET – #EricSays Movie Review appeared first on 红桃视频 Institute.

]]>
, the mind-bending director of movies like ‘‘ and ‘‘, has done it again with his new movie ‘Tenet’. This flick can be seen at real life actual movie theaters, so fill the inside of your face mask with popcorn and go to your local megaplex and watch it.
This movie made me feel like I went back in time. Specifically, back to 2004 when my favorite micro-budget movie ‘‘ came out. I love micro budget movies made for less than $50k like Primer (which was shot right here in Addison Texas), especially when they are written well. Tenet shares a few time travel ‘themes’ with Primer, which is actually okay because it’s kinda cool to see the same ideas handled in a small movie way vs. the mega budget way Tenet handles it.
What is Tenet about? Hmmmmm, if I could explain it then I’d be a lot smarter than I pretend to be, but I’ll give it a shot. Tenet supposes that a future generation of man has figured out a way to infuse ‘backward-ness’ into objects and people. Objects can behave backwards like you are watching reversed time, and people can kind of do the same thing by going into a device and traveling backwards in real time while their doppleganger self travels parallel with them going forwards in time. You’ll need to re-read that sentence about five times.
Is Tenet any good? Yes!!! It is a great action movie wrapped around a time travel plot. The first half of the movie is easy to grasp and filled with fun action and dialogue. The second half, especially the final battle, will have you scratching your head to try and figure out all the crazy time-loops that are going on at the same time on screen. This bothers some people, but not me, I just sat back and enjoyed all the action while trying to figure out little time nuggets here and there. Of course, this meant I had to see it again. Which I did, and loved it even more the second time.
I plan on seeing it a few more times, and I’ll need to – just so I can grasp everything. I’m also going to travel backwards in time when physical media was a thing, and re-watch my Primer DVD again. Maybe I’ll understand it this time.

Daily Online Networking & Business Routine For Artists /daily-online-networking-business-routine-for-artists/ Sat, 29 Aug 2020 00:17:13 +0000 /?p=10434 Maintaining your brand takes a daily commitment, but it doesn't have to be time consuming! Here are 3 tips to keep your online networking & business routine on track.

The post Daily Online Networking & Business Routine For Artists appeared first on 红桃视频 Institute.

]]>

Do you have a daily online networking & business routine? If not, you should begin creating some habits to keep your brand current in this fast-passed industry. Start simple to find a balance with your creative side by creating your brand’s unique voice (over arching personality) & tones (specific style of engagement depending on platform or content) — what you’ll find is that it is ALL creative!More on brand voice & tones coming in a future post!

1. EMAIL / TEXT – Develop your brand’s “business” tone

Check your email at least 2 times a day. It is best to start your day with your email and then if you can check it every 3-4 hours, that is great! If not though, don’t let the day end without checking your email once more before turning out the lights. Also, do not put off a response to the next day for any email, Always respond, even if it is to let the sender know, you received the email and you will get back to them when you have more information. Finally, quickly delete all fo that junk email. Keep the inbox CLEAN.

Texting is the primary communication method for many and should already be a part of your routine. Since text is immediate, you should be regularly checking your texts and it is even more important that you respond immediately upon receipt. Again, a response can be as simple as – “Got the message, I’ll get back to you ASAP”

NOTE: If you don’t have a business email, you can create a GMAIL account for use in all of your social media accounts.

2. SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT 鈥揇evelop your brand’s “social” tone

  • Post engagement – If someone reposts or comments on your post or a post you are following, you should respond if it makes sense.
  • Direct Messages – Absolutely respond to direct messages, treat them like a text or an email.
  • Mentions – Mentions are similar post engagement, be aware of it and engage if it makes sense.
  • Follows – Review profiles of all new followers. If they don’t have a photo, limited or no post history, no followers, then you probably don’t need to follow them back. If they however do have one or more of those things, check their posts, description and who they follow / their followers. Based on this info you can determine if you should follow them back and if you should engage even further with a direct message. This is a great networking opportunity for collaborators and creating super fans.

NOTE: You don鈥檛 have to be active on ALL social media, but be sure you are active on the one you are most comfortable with. Then branch out to others that make sense for your brand.

3. CHECK THE NEWS鈥 What’s happening in YOUR world?

Create the filter – There is a LOT going on everyday in the world, so you have to create your own very specific filter that reflects your world and your brand’s voice & tone.

Start with your own “creative” world — Your a creative first, so start there. Be careful though when you give your opinion. Start with industry specific news and news about YOU! What are you doing in your business right now? Are you in the studio, writing, touring? What is happening in the industry that effects you personally? Is there a new copyright law you have thoughts on? Try to post at least 1 thing new every week and then as you get more comfortable, post as frequently as you have something interesting to share.

NOTE: If you dedicate 1 -2 hours a day on these 3 areas, you will be WELL on your way to having a successful daily online business routine!
